Russia left no medal chances for hosts China in the third place game.

Spartak’s own Tatyana Shchegoleva, Irina Osipova and Marina Karpunina were all major contributors on the squad. Emerging as the team’s top choice in the paint, Osipova led the team in rebounding at 6.8 per game. Shchegoleva was one of the main offensive weapons, finishing second in scoring with 12.3 per game. Karpunina became one of the tournament’s best bench players.
